Celebrate Highwood is thrilled to announce Highwood Days and the new Taste of Highwood! Kicking off Thursday, July 17 through Sunday, July 20, the Highwood Days Carnival will take place in the Downtown Highwood Metra Station Parking Lot July 17-20, with the NEW Taste of Highwood joining in the fun July 18-20, and the Highwood 5K Family Run, Walk and Stroll takes place on Saturday, July 19.
"The combination of Highwood Days and Taste of Highwood offers something for everyone to come out and enjoy all weekend long with a variety of options from great food and drinks, live music and a carnival," says Jessica Ortega, President of Celebrate Highwood and owner of Giggles Play. "Taste of Highwood celebrates the eclectic taste of the culinary diversity of Highwood." Taste of Highwood will offer delicacies from over a dozen Highwood restaurants, caterers and food trucks.
Combined with the 58th Annual Highwood Days, the City's most celebrated festival in its history, the 4-day festival will be complete with carnival rides and games! Come on out, sample some of Highwood's great 'tastes", enjoy a cocktail, and listen to some great music!
Highwood Days and Taste of Highwood will take place in rain or shine. Taste of Highwood hours are Friday 5-10 PM,Saturday noon–10 PM and Sunday noon–8 PM. The 58th Annual Highwood Days Carnival hours are Thursday 5-10 PM, Friday 5-10 PM, Saturday 1-10 PM and Sunday 1-8 PM.
In addition to the wide selection of flavorful food, live music and carnival, Celebrate Highwood is hosting Highwood's only timed run/walk of the year. The Highwood 5K Family Fun Run, Walk & Stroll on Saturday, July 19 at 9 AM, benefiting Josselyn, providing community-based health care, in addition to awareness, outreach, and community programming. Runners and walkers can sign up now through midnight on Friday July 18. The registration fee is $40 per participant (stroller kids are free) and includes a run t-shirt (must be registered by July 12 to guarantee t-shirt size).
Pre-race packet pick up will take place on Wednesday, July 16 from 5-8 PM at the Celebrate Highwood tent during Margarita Night at the Highwood Evening Gourmet Market in Everts Park and on Thursday, July 17 from 11 AM–1 PM at Fleet Feet, 800 Waukegan Road, Deerfield. Race Day onsite packet pick up and registration will take place at the start/finish line at Sheridan Road and Clay Avenue in Highwood beginning at 8 AM.
